About the Challenge

The ZANTAC^® Chili Challenge is on and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! This year, celebrity chef, Anthony Sedlak, will embark on a cross-country quest for Canada’s top chili recipes and bring the best-of-the-best to Toronto to compete at the national ZANTAC^® Chili Challenge cook-off event. Here’s how this year’s contest is going to work:

Chili enthusiasts from across the country are invited to submit an original chili recipe by clicking on the “Enter Now” link below. A photo of the original recipe may be submitted, but is optional.

You can enter your recipe for the ZANTAC^® Chili Challenge any time between November 15, 2010 and December 13, 2010. Submitted recipes will be available for viewing on the contest website (www.chilichallenge.ca), where visitors can view recipes and vote for their favourite. Voting will be available from December 14, 2010 to December 29, 2010.

All entries will be sorted by region (Western, Central and Eastern Canada). The top three recipes per region, as determined by consumer votes, will advance to compete in one of three local ZANTAC^® Chili Challenge cook-off events. Anthony Sedlak will host each event and judge the recipes to identify a regional winner at each event. These three winners will compete in the ultimate chili showdown – the national ZANTAC^® Chili Challenge in Toronto in February, 2011 – where they will face off against two-time reigning chili champion, Mike Callaghan, in a live cook-off event. Recipes will be judged by Anthony and an independent judging panel who will declare the ZANTAC^® Chili Challenge Grand Prize winner. The Grand Prize is an all-inclusive trip for two (2) to the Mayan Riviera.
